Dolphins are great, DD, and your close-up photo is just amazing. I was on a boat in Loch Broom when several dolphins came close and started cavorting around. It was as if someone had deliberately laid on a performance for us. There were Spanish visitors on the boat and they were thrilled, shouting "Olé!" when the dolphins jumped out of the water. Thank you DD!

they are really wonderful creatures---whilst in french polynesia in 2006 i swam with dolphins--great or so i thought!!!they were reared in captivity(a bit cruel, now i think;but whilst out on the Huarki gulf, just out of auckland i was lucky to be in the water with dolphins but this time WILD,NATURAL 'fins.just a brilliant experience. In the southern hemisphere they seem to be everywhere,,as soon as they sense a boat ,up they come! Watching dolphins, seals, whales etc are just another BONUS one gets whilst living on an island(or on the coast)

I have never been out in the ocean that a few dolphins didn't come up around the boat. I love them. I was on the beach one day and a small pod were surfing the waves. It's a picture that is imprinted in my mind. It was a beautiful sunny day and the waves were like glass. The dolphins were having a ball playing. It always makes me smile when I think about that day. Thanks for the nudge to remember it.
